“Continue steadfastly in prayer, being watchful in it with thanksgiving. At the same time, pray also for us, that God may open to us a door for the word, to declare the mystery of Christ…” Colossians 4: 2, 3
During this season of Thanksgiving we wanted to take a minute to share the many ways we are THANKFUL for how God is working and providing for our family as we seek to serve Him wholeheartedly in our town and community.
We are THANKFUL for the place God has provided for us to gather with families in our community. The Stoneham Senior Center is closed on Sunday evenings and we have been able to use the space to meet for Bible study, fellowships and we will hold a Family Christmas Service there later this month. This space has been a huge blessing!
We are THANKFUL for the many people God has connected us with in our community…friends, business owners, neighbors and other local pastors. The Sunday night before Thanksgiving we hosted a get together for friends with 36 in attendance. Each family received a “Thankful Tree” to assemble at home along with a list of character qualities to be thankful for to aid parents in identifying qualities in their children that are admirable. Please pray Colossians 4:3 for us–that God would open the door for the word that we might declare the mystery of Christ in conversation with the many people God has connected us with!
We are THANKFUL for Christians like Pat, Jenny and Anne that have partnered with us in reaching out to families in our community. It has been such an encouragement to see how God is working in their lives and calling them as well to this vision of being a part of the start of a new church here in Stoneham!
We are THANKFUL for YOU…our family and friends who are on this journey with us…praying for us…giving time and resources to join in the work GOD is doing here!! Your support and partnership with us is a constant encouragement. Know that you will receive a share in the harvest as God changes lives, reveals His love to families and makes His name known in our community! Please pray as we prepare for a Family Christmas Service on December 15th at 6:30 pm that God would draw families…that He would stir their hearts to attend…and that those in attendance would encounter the true JOY of Christmas…the story of Jesus.
With love and grateful hearts,
Steve, Merri, Nathan and Cora Brown
