We are thankful for the past two and a half months in the new meeting space that God has provided for Wellspring Church! In addition to transitioning into the new space we have been able to purchase signs to bring greater awareness to the community about our weekly service.
God provided Danielle and Sarah to teach our kids class during our service as we started the Gospel Project curriculum this fall. We were also able to give each of the kids who attend our church their own Bible to take home and bring to church each Sunday. The kids have been very excited about learning how to look up verses and read the stories in their Bibles each Sunday.
This Sunday, December 14th @ 5pm we will have a special Family Christmas Service! So many in our community do not know the joy of experiencing Jesus as the greatest gift of Christmas. We are praying that God will draw families to our service to celebrate with us the true story of Christmas!
Inglewood Baptist Church loaned us some children’s nativity costumes to use for the drama we will be doing from the Gospel of Luke on Sunday. The kids had so much fun trying on the costumes and getting ready for the special Christmas service!
Pray for families to be open to attending our service and for hearts to respond to God who sent His Son into the world.
“But to all who did receive Him, who believed in His name, He gave the right to become children of God.” John 1:12

After exactly one year of using the meeting space at the Stoneham Senior Center on Sunday evenings for Bible studies, thanksgiving get togethers, Christmas services and the start of our weekly worship service, God has provided an exciting new meeting space for Wellspring Church! We are thankful for the Stoneham Senior Center space and the opportunities it afforded us to connect with our community this past year but one major limitation was their policy that did not allow us to put any type of sign out front to let those attending our events know that Wellspring Church was meeting there. For this reason we knew we would need a space that would give us more visibility in the community.
About a month ago, we started looking into the possibility of meeting at Nate’s music school where he takes his weekly cello lessons. It has a performance room that we could use for our worship service, classroom space, an eating space with a small kitchen and it is very kid and family friendly. As we began talking with the music school owner about this possibility, it became clear that God was opening up this opportunity for us! Several huge blessings come as a part of meeting in the new space and here are a few: we can put signs out when we are having a service, we are able to use all the music school’s sound equipment and do not need to bring in any of our own, there is storage space for our kid’s class supplies, the worship service space requires minimal set up, the location is off a major highway with lots of visibility and is centrally located for several communities in addition to Stoneham. Here are a few more pictures of the space:
We are excited to see how God will use this new space to establish Wellspring Church in this community! We are doing a preview night on Sunday, September 21st to allow families to see the space and know what to expect for a typical Sunday service. We are reaching out to many families we are building relationships with who are not connected with a church, please join us in praying they will attend the start of our new fall series on September 28th at our new location! We will use the next couple of weeks to prepare the new space for our Sunday services. We have listed some financial needs on right column along with specific prayer requests that are associated with the new space and would appreciate your continued partnership with us in preparation for our first official service at Onset Music School! Thank you for being on this journey with us. We have been so blessed by your generosity on so many levels and think of each of you as Paul writes to the Philippians in 4:16, 17 “Even in Thessalonica you sent me help for my needs once and again. Not that I seek the gift, but I seek the fruit that increases to your credit.” Excited to see how God will allow us all to be a part of the harvest of seeing lives changed by the good news of Jesus!

From start to finish our first VBS was an exciting time of seeing God at work in our community! God provided the perfect location for us to host VBS right in the center of our town in the Stoneham Town Hall Auditorium! The second HUGE provision from God involved putting together an awesome team of followers of Jesus made up of Wellspring Church families, adults and youth from South Main Baptist Church in Greenwood SC and Ed & Linda Miller from Inglewood Baptist Church in Grand Prairie, TX to work together to carry out the week of VBS!
Many of our friends from Inglewood Baptist Church also sent decorations, leader materials, DVDs, music and much more that we could use to carry out our VBS!
We had one hour before the first day of VBS to decorate the space and the adults and youth jumped into action and everyone was hanging decorations and helping to create a fun space for the kids to enjoy that week!
We had fun with secret agent gear, costumes and disguises but most of all we got to help kids Discover, Decide and Defend the truth of who Jesus is! 35 kids attended our first VBS representing 18 families in our community! For many of them this was their first ever VBS to attend. We are so excited that kids and parents were exposed to the good news about Jesus!! The feedback from the parents was amazing. They were so thankful and appreciative but we know most of all they were able to experience the love of Jesus that week!
All the families whose kids participated in VBS were invited to attend our special VBS service on Sunday, August 3rd. Six families from VBS joined us on Sunday and were able to hear the same message of Jesus their kids heard during the week!
We are praying that families we connected with through VBS will join us for our new Gospel Project series we are beginning on Sunday, September 14th!

Stoneham Strong 5K
Last month we had the opportunity to be an official sponsor of a 5K race in Stoneham that benefitted those in our community that were seriously injured by the Boston Marathon bombings last year. Wellspring Church was included on the race t-shirts and flyers for our June Family Night were included in all 300 race bags. On the day of the race we helped supply the water stations and set up a booth to give out free granola bars, Gatorade and invites to our Sunday worship service. Thank you for your generous hearts and for partnering with us so we can have a presence in our community and connect with new families as we share the love and message of Jesus. Pray also for the families who were affected by the bombings. So many, one year after the events, still face daily struggles. Pray that they would find peace, comfort and strength in Jesus.
Red Sox Family Night
This past Friday night we hosted our second annual Red Sox Family Night. Last June with the event inside Amore Pizza we maxed out the capacity of the restaurant with 21 families in attendance. This year we held the event on the Stoneham Town Common, included red sox themed games, live music, snow cones and popcorn and were able to connect with many more in our community with 46 families in attendance.
We were blessed to have a church group from West Texas, another church planting family from Revere and Scott and Lori who are here for the summer assisting church planters all serve with us that evening to run the Family Night! It is such an encouraging reminder that as followers of Jesus we are all a part of the family of God!
The weather was beautiful and the kids enjoyed the Red Sox themed games! The timed base running seemed to be the favorite.
Mike, our worship leader, and his friend Simeon played live music and it created a fun atmosphere for families to enjoy a relaxing evening on the common.
All the families who attended received invites to our worship service and upcoming Vacation Bible School. Please pray that God would allow us to make great connections with families in our community as we follow up with those who attended!
The Manter family who are dear friends from our church in Texas and who have faithfully partnered with us in ministry here were in town for the weekend and participated in the Family Night with us. We love to have visits from family & friends!!
Vacation Bible School
We have seen God faithfully answer prayers as we have prepared to host Wellspring Church’s first Vacation Bible School in our community! First God provided groups from two churches, Inglewood Baptist Church in Texas and South Main Street Baptist Church in South Carolina to help staff the VBS. Then God provided the perfect location for our event. A couple of weeks ago we found out that we were approved to use a very large auditorium in the Stoneham Town Hall for our VBS! It is located in the center of town and we will be able to advertise for the event with a banner on the town common. Please pray for all the details of this event to come together and for many families in our community to be blessed by a fun week of discovering who Jesus is!

As followers of Jesus Easter is a special time of celebrating and remembering the incredible act of God that redeemed YOU and ME, the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ! Our desire as we prepare for our first Easter service is to get the word out to our community and pray that God would draw families to hear and believe the WONDERFUL news of the gospel. Our service will be Sunday evening from 5-6pm. After the service we will have an egg hunt for kids, food and a time to connect with the families God brings. We are inviting those in our community in a variety of ways. We are personally inviting friends and neighbors. We are distributing 1,000 door hangers to homes in the community. And this Saturday from 10am – 2pm and next Tuesday from 4pm to 8pm we have been given the opportunity from the grocery store in town to pass out invites to our service! Over the summer you might remember this same store allowed us to do a free lemonade stand and hand out invites to our Family Night with the group from Texas who was in town that week serving in Stoneham. Please pray God would give us good conversations, boldness, and connect us with those who are searching for peace and an understanding of what it means to have a personal relationship with Jesus. Know that we will be praying for Easter services in your communities as well–that God would draw families to hear the story of Jesus and that many hearts would be turned to Him!

As giant snow piles begin to melt and thoughts of spring are on everyone’s minds our excitement is stirred by preparations for the next step in starting Wellspring Church. This spring we will begin meeting for weekly worship services on Sunday evenings and it has been exciting to see God work! First we wanted to share with you a little about the team God has put together to start Wellspring Church as it is a picture of His faithful provision.
Mike & Chelsea Tulimiero
Mike and Steve met through working together at The Container Store. The first time Steve worked with Mike they had a faith conversation and Steve found out that Mike was a believer. Mike is in his mid 20’s, has a degree in music, works in music production and has also served as a worship leader in his parents’ church. Last spring Steve and Mike began meeting for Bible study with another friend from work and continued throughout the year to meet and talk about what God was teaching them. In December Mike led the music for our Christmas service and as the New Year began Steve asked Mike to lead music for our weekly services on Sunday nights. Mike’s wife Chelsea is pursuing Doctor of physical therapy program at Northeastern University in Boston and she has become one of Cora’s favorite friends!
Pat & Jenny Brown
Pat, Jenny and their boys Hugo (7) and Harry (5) moved to the Boston area this past summer after spending 4 1/2 years in the UK while Pat completed his Masters degree and took a job in Scotland. Prior to living in the UK, Pat and Jenny met while living in the Chicago area and attended The Moody Church. They did not realize how hard it would be to find a church in the Boston area. This fall their family was a part of our weekly Bible study and felt God leading them to help us start Wellspring Church!
Wednesday nights our three families meet to study through the gospel of Luke, to pray and to strategize how to reach families in our community with the gospel. These families are a great encouragement and evidence of God’s faithful provision to provide a team for us to work with in sharing the love and message of Jesus!
It is amazing how God works! Mason Adair along with his wife, Amber and kids Major (10) and Maley (5) moved from Texas one year ahead of us to start Branch Church in the greater Boston area. Through mutual friends in Texas Steve was connected with Mason before we moved to the area. Within a month of our arrival in Stoneham the Adairs had us over for pizza. God provided friends and fellow church planters from Texas! Branch Church and the Adair family has been a huge encouragement in journeying with us as we prepare to start Wellspring Church. They have served us in countless ways with their time, teaching kids classes, through funding for ministry expenses and sharing their resources. Again, another picture of God’s faithful provision!
Please pray for God to direct our every step as we prepare to launch Wellspring Church on Easter Sunday, April 20th! Pray “that God may open to us a door for the Word, to declare the mystery of Christ.” Col. 4:3

There is no school today and as we watch the snow falling outside our window and the snow plows going up and down our street we wait to see how much snow we’ll get with the latest storm to move through our area. With close to 50 inches of snow so far this winter and very cold temperatures its been a very active season!
Conditions like that make us appreciate all the more the good weather we had for our Valentine’s themed Family Night this past Tuesday and the families who braved the cold temperatures and attended! It was a great time to connect with families we’ve met in our community and to invite those who attended to our last parenting themed study on Sunday, February 16th and our worship service coming up on February 23.
Please pray that God would continue to draw families to these events and that He would reveal Himself to them as they hear His Word and the good news of the gospel! Pray also for us and those who are a part of our team as we prepare for these events, that God would equip us and bring all the details together.
